Jean Paul will launch a line for Target!
It has been confirmed that Jean Paul Gaultier is designing a line for Target to launch next spring. It will be available in more than 250 stores and Target.com on March 7. The collection will be on sale through April 11, so get it while it's hot!
Gaultier will be the third prominent designer to do a collection for the mass retailer. Each designer prior had chosen an influence for their line. Alexander McQueen chose Leila Moss, and Anna Sui reflected the style of the characters of Gossip Girl in her collection.
Biker Chick
Our own DIY City Girl Boots inspired me to blog about a biker look. A leather jacket is a great staple to any closet because it’s a trend that just keeps coming back in style. Pair the boots and jacket with a concert t-shirt, some ripped jeans and some rocking accessories. Don't be surprised if people ask if you’re Megan Fox.
New York Design Shop has been nominated for the Juli B Style Award!!
We are super excited to even be considered, and love how our customers and fans support us! Thanks Juli B!!
31 Rue Cambon: Chanel Magazine
A Chanel logo puts stars in the eyes of every fashion-lover, so its no surprise the impending release of 31 Rue Cambon is creating all kinds of buzz.

A round-up of one of the NYDS team's favorite trends: metallic accents! Whether a spray of studs on a hand bag or an eccentric twist on sequins, metallic accents bring excitement to any outfit. With the impending holidays and the hundred parties you're sure to attend, consider this for your show-stopping look.

Behind the Scenes at our D.I.Y. Photo Shoot
This past September, the NYDS team aside two days to dress up three gorgeous models in our favorite D.I.Y. creations (and a ton of great jewelry and accessories) and let them sell it for our cameras – you’ll find them all over our website showing everyone just how glam D.I.Y. can be!

Embellish your tights
Cynthia Rowley’s embellished tights from her Spring 2010 line are getting lots of attention from fashion reporters and bloggers. The idea of decorating something that is usually pretty plain is an awesome idea, and a really easy thing to make.
Princess Jewel Necklaces
Looking for an amazing statement necklace?? Well, NYDS has the perfect match. Out of the 6 shown here, ours is the ONLY one that costs under $150! Check out the Princess Jewel Necklace...it's perfect for the Holidays!!
Snood?
The hooded scarf has started to take over the fashion world. Maybe the chilly weather has something to do with this but Lady Gaga sported the look a few months ago and American Apparel put out their version of the scarf last spring. Others followed suit in their Fall 09 lines. This look is known by other names such as the infinity scarf, circle scarf and tube scarf. But whatever it’s called it looks functional and fashionable.
Spotted! Stylist for Gossip Girl Eric Daman with his new book.
From the Blair headband to the punk chicness of Little J, Gossip Girl inspired trends are popping up everywhere. So it comes as no surprise that the stylist behind these looks, Eric Daman, has compiled his professional thoughts and ideas in a book tantalizingly entitled ‘You Know You Want It’. Now we can all dress to impress with Daman’s helpful tips…watch out Upper East Side. xoxo.
TayTay Leaves Rachel Zoe!
I think we all might have seen this coming. Taylor Jacobson has finally spread her wings and flown the Rachel Zoe coop. After constant complaints this season about her role at Rachel Zoe, Taylor recently sent an email out to colleagues shadowing her feelings we have seen on-camera. “I am saddened and exhilarated at the same time to announce my departure. After much thought and consideration, I have decided to take the challenging leap and go off and style on my own.”
Lace Out!
Lace was all over the Fall ‘09 lines. Whether paired with
red lipstick, a leather jacket or black platform heels, this style will look
fierce. However, don’t overload with lace or you will end up looking like some
80s prom queen. Embellish your clothes with our antique inspired laces…
Girly Guns
Military looks are popping up everywhere lately.
Blame it on the war or “This is It”, the Michael Jackson tribute movie.
Whatever the reason army gear is in. Gold trimming, buttons, buckles, and
chains are all great details to look for on jackets and boots. I think the
style looks best when paired with something feminine like this light pink
